Public Affairs Report 2019

We have had a very interesting year with the Resolution Meeting being very well attended and some interesting information being shared with members.

Our Pudding and Punch evening focused on how Plastic Waste is damaging the Antarctic, with Clara Manno from the Antarctic Survey team coming with her very interesting talk and slides. Celia, one of our committee members, is still keeping in touch with Clara so eventually we will be able to give you some more information on how things are progressing when Clara returns from the Antarctic.

We were sorry to cancel the Shortlist Resolution meeting, but unfortunately not enough members had booked by the closing date and numbers were not sufficient to make this evening viable. As it turned out, it could have gone ahead with several more bookings coming in after the closing date.

These closing dates are essential as it is members’ money that pays for the hire of the venues. Please make sure that these deadlines are met in the future as these meetings are put on for your information.

I would like to thank all the committee for their hard work

We may only be small, but we can make a difference by working as a team.
